Setting Up and Using Your Stayy Property Calendar

Setting up and using your calendar.

For this post I’m going to assume you’ve Joined Stayy and added your property. This is super easy and shouldn’t take more than one minute. Do that now if you have not done so yet. You can also click on the dashboard button to be invited to the Stayy example property to play with a multi-space scheduling calendar as a guest. 

Great, now that you have a beautiful new property page with the basics of your property name and location filled in, you can see your fresh new calendar on the page (you’ll have to scroll down just a bit if you have a small screen or are on a mobile device).

It will look something like this:

You can already play with your calendar and test it out. But you might want to make some scheduling adjustments first.

To edit your calendar settings, click on that lovely “Property Settings” button at the top right of the property page (just above the photos). And then select Stay Scheduling in the settings menu. 

The top section here shows the top level of scheduling. Schedule by the whole property (one calendar), or schedule by individual sleeping space (multi-calendar to schedule bedrooms separately). You can also choose Both to allow your guests more flexibility individual needs. 

Click on Edit Details to set scheduling rules for your property. If you have sleeping space options for your guests, you can set these rules individually for each space. Why? A master bedroom might accommodate two people very nicely for a week. A second bedroom with two bunk beds setup is great for four friends to crash, but that get’s to be a lot for more than a long weekend. So setting specific stay length and guest limits by sleeping space might be relevant for your property. Pricing setup will also be here in these settings buy only if you have set up and connected your Stripe payments account. 

Now that you have your calendar and scheduling rules set up the way you want, you can simply head back to your property page and try it all out.

First, general navigation.

Swipe horizontally to move forward/backwards in time. You can also use the top left navigation buttons to jump to the next and previous months. And the 'Today' button will jump to the current date. 

As you hover over each night, you'll see a green button appear. Click on that for your calendar options. As the property owner or manager you can schedule your own stay or sent the night as unavailable. Click the left/right arrow on the green button to adjust the amount of nights selected.

A few additional settings for more detailed control of your calendar scheduling.

In your Property Settings > Stay Scheduling you have the options to:

• Choose the amount of future calendar to show (3, 6, or 12 months).
• Show or hide guest names and photos. Staying socially creates a better experience for families sharing a vacation property. And you can allow comments for guests scheduling stays.

If you want to individually approve scheduling stays, go to your Guest List > Guest List Settings and select “Stay scheduling must be individually approved.” For each guest type that you want to manually moderate. Yes, you can set this differently for family vs other guests. On your calendar you’ll see any pending scheduling requests in orange.

Don’t forget to invite all of your friends and family to your property!
